Who am i?
My name is Nick Howell. I’m currently studying for a BSc in Computer Science at The University of York.
I’ve been at University since October 2006, and if all goes according to plan, will be studying here until 2010.
Interests etc
My main Interests obviously lie with computing, but more specific than that, i enjoy setting up networks, administering them and just generally getting my hands dirty with PCs – whether that be building or repairing them.
I’ve also done a bit of Web Design in past, although my PHP skills are a little more rusty than they used to be.
Outside of computing, I’m a keen technician in the world of media. I’ve rigged and operated a number of different Lighting systems for Theatre, as well as Sound for Theatre, Television and Live Music events.
I’m current the Computing Officer for YSTV and previously held the post of Technical Director for 18 months. I have been the Sound Technician for a University Panto in Jan 07 and before university i was part of the Technical Team that provided all lighting and sound for musicals at my Secondary School / 6th Form.
I’ve just finnished my Year in Industry working for CSC on the NHS Account and I’m returning to my final year of study in October 09.
